My son went to court as he was hit in the face by a yob, resulting in a shattered eye socket and fractured cheek bone. He had to undergo surgery to rebuild the socket. When we went to court the prosecution lawyer, talked us out of pursuing the case, said we didn't stand a chance because the other boy claimed self defence. After 2 hours discussing our options we were railroaded into dropping the case. I complained to the CPS for asking us to attend court if this was a lost cause, only to find out that the case was a strong one and that it was triable and the chances of a conviction was pretty high. We were let down by this prosecutor who was an agent working for the court. I want to know if I have a right to claim compensation for his mishandling of the case. |
