Judge requires CPS to apologise

Judge Paul Darlow in October 2008 ordered the CPS to make a public apology for turning up to a trial and offering no evidence. Judge Darlow said "we despair of trying to run these courts in any sort of efficient way". "We have had cases collapse on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday". The prosecuting counsel, Philip Lee, did indeed apologise on behalf of the CPS.
