The Chief Prosecutor, Sir Ken Macdonald is in trouble for using
his official govenment paid car to meet his mistress, Kirsty Brimelow. Sir
"Ken" is married with three children. It is widely thought he only got his
job because he is closely associated with Cherie Blair, Tony Blair's wife,
with whom he set up Matrix Chambers. Sir "Ken" has never prosecuted a case
in his life, yet he is the Chief Prosecutor, (although when a young man he
was convicted of a drugs offence). As his mistress is a leading criminal
barrister, the public is entitled to wonder if Sir "Ken" has passed other
favours, courtesy of the tax-payer, to Miss Brimelow. It all goes to show
that the malaise in the Crown Prosecution Service goes right to the top. |
